Plan a gorge stay

Reservations handled from the Rochester desk; payment goes straight to the campground or inn, and no card is ever requested here.

Camping stay cancellation policy for every night reserved at a gorge

This camping stay cancellation policy has two parts, because two different things can be canceled: a request to the office, which costs nothing at any point, and a confirmed stay, which follows the campground's own terms.

Before you choose a campground

Until you pick one of the options, nothing is held anywhere and nothing has been paid. You can stop by not answering, or by telling us to stop. There is no fee, now or later.

After the campground confirms

Once a campground or inn confirms and takes your payment, its cancellation terms apply, and only its terms. Campgrounds and inns in the region commonly refund in full up to a set number of days before arrival, keep a part after that, and keep everything inside the last few days; summer and October weekends are often stricter. These are examples of what campgrounds do, not a promise: every quote copies the chosen campground's terms out word for word, and the confirmation repeats them.

Card holds and prepayment

Many campgrounds hold an amount on your card at confirmation or ask for part of the stay in advance. The quote states the campground's own practice: how much, when it is taken, and when it is released or refunded.

Changing dates

Ask the office or the campground directly. A change is a new request to the campground; it may accept it, price it differently, or treat it as a cancellation under its terms. We tell you which before anything is changed.

Weather, closures and the gorge itself

Gorge trails close after storms and in winter, and a fire ban can come in a dry month. A closed trail does not by itself oblige the campground to refund, unless its own terms say so. If a campground closes and cannot take you in, it refunds you under its terms, and the office looks for another campground at no cost.

Money back comes from the campground

Refunds come from the campground that took your payment, to the same card or account, on its timeline. The office has no money of yours to return, because it never takes any. If a campground is slow to refund, tell us; we chase it.

Nothing to ship

The office arranges stays only. There are no goods, no shipping and no returns of physical items.
